چکیده
Because of its excellent opto-electronic properties, CdZnTe (CZT) has been the material choice for x- and gamma-ray detectors operable at room temperature. CZT is leading commercially available room-temperature radiation detector today. Although much progress made over past three decades, today's crystals still face certain challenges, especially presence performance-limiting materials defects associated relatively high production cost. In this regard, CdxZn1?xTeySe1?y (CZTS) emerging as a next-generation compound semiconductor, which overcomes some limitations technology stated applications. Here, we conducted study to evaluate crystalline quality traveling heater method grown CZTS with an optimized alloy composition, i.e., Cd0.9Zn0.1Te0.98Se0.02. The as-grown samples were evaluated by low-temperature photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy high-resolution x-ray diffraction using synchrotron light source Brookhaven National Laboratory. full width half maximum both PL rocking curves was observed be broadened due lattice disorder quaternary compound, eventually degrading quality. This consistent density functional theory calculations.

Growth of detector-grade CZT by Traveling Heater Method (THM): An advancement
In this present work we report the growth of Cd0.9Zn0.1Te doped with In by a modified THM technique. It has been demonstrated that by controlling the microscopically flat growth interface, the size distribution and concentration can be drastically reduced in the as-grown ingots. This results in as-grown detector-grade CZT by the THM technique. The three-dimensional size distribution and concent...
متن کاملA new approach to crystal growth of Hg 1 _ ~ Cd ~ Teby the travelling heater method ( THM )
Crystal growth by the travelling heater method (THM) is reported using a source material preparation process that is different from all methods used before. Non-stoichiometric (Hg,Cd)Te melts were homogenized and quenched to prevent macroscopic segregation effects. Inclusions of excess Te were removed during a first THM pass, resulting in stoichiometric solid alloys with a shift of the mole fra...
متن کاملIn0.3Ga0.7As Plate Crystals Grown by the Traveling Liquidus-Zone (TLZ) Method
The TLZ method is a new crystal growth method which we have invented for the growth of homogeneous mixed crystals. The influence of convection in a melt on the compositional homogeneity of TLZ-grown InxGa1−xAs crystals was investigated by the growth of various diameter crystals on the ground. The results have shown that excellent compositional homogeneity is realized even on the ground if the c...
